The best leaders rarely lack ability. What they lack is someone outside the system who can see it clearly and tell them the truth about it.
I work with senior leaders and their teams, bringing a systemic eye to what happens around them, not just within them. Fifteen years and hundreds of executive rooms sit behind the work, across financial services, insurance, pharmaceutical, engineering and technology. Before that, eight years as a chartered accountant at PwC.
The questions I help leaders and teams sit with are rarely the comfortable ones:
- What are you carrying that you cannot say to anyone around you?
- Whose counsel do you actually trust, and is any of it truly independent?
- What is the conversation everyone is avoiding?
- Are you a team, or a group of talented individuals reporting to the same person?
- Is your team changing as fast as the world it operates in?
My lens is systemic. Future-back and outside-in. I pay attention to the relationships, the patterns and the dynamics that shape what is actually possible, for the leader and for the team around them.
